February is Black History Month. Join Ms. Ximena as she tells you about five YA books by African American writers!

Family activities and recorded videos for adults and children to enjoy together. Each week we will share a video and you can come to the library to pick up the supplies to make the project at home. Supplies can be picked up Wed-Sat at the library’s drive-up window or in person.

What would your parents think if you invented a machine to do your homework? Read this book with one (or both!) of your parents and find out! Join us on Zoom to share your thoughts with other readers.

Online, Zoom session with an instructor from Pratyush Sinha Foundation. For more than 8 years, PSF has been teaching after school yoga to elementary and middle schools in Allentown. These free classes offer movement and breathing with a story followed by a simple at-home craft. Children develop flexibility- physically and mentally, learn balance on and off the mat, and grow the soft skills necessary for positive life outcomes.

Each month we will offer a kit with all the supplies you need to make a fun craft. February: “I Only Have Fries for You” Valentine Craft
Ask for one at the drive-up window during open hours or in-person in our children’s department. Get them while they last!
Dates: Mondays, February 8th–March 15th, 2021, 10:30am to 11am. No class on March 8th.
Join Ms. Audrey for a live zoom meeting to bond with your baby. We will introduce our babies to the joys of movement and song while building their early learning skills.
*Please stop by the drive through window after your registration is confirmed. Register here. A Zoom Baby & Caregiver Storytime Bag will be on hold for you under your name. You will receive a list of rhymes/songs, a shaker, and bubbles to keep and use during the program.
Rules: Storytime is a program for parents/caregivers and their children. Both the parent/caregiver and the child must be present during the entire program. Unaccompanied adults or children will be asked to leave the program. When registering for this program, parents/caregivers should include their name and their child’s name so Ms. Audrey can learn your names and use them in an interactive song. Register and you will receive an email with a link by 9:30am on the day of the event. You will be registered for all of the story times in this session, February 8th–March 15th, 2021. No class on March 8th.

Books and songs are chosen to support the theme to increase vocabulary and prereading skills, such as letter recognition. A new video will be posted each Friday.
