Processing Lost Items

Resource Sharing Lost Item Processing Workflow 

  1. Confirm Lost Status
  • Once the designated period has passed, verify that the item’s status has automatically changed to “Lost.” 
  1. Check Replacement Policy
  1. Collect Replacement or Payment
  • If a replacement is accepted, collect item placement from patron
  • If a replacement is not accepted or the patron decides to pay, collect the required payment from the patron.
  1. Remit Payment
  • Send the replacement item to the owning library through deliver
  • Send a check for the replacement cost to the owning library through the mail.
