Resource Sharing Lost Item Processing Workflow
- Confirm Lost Status
- Once the designated period has passed, verify that the item’s status has automatically changed to “Lost.”
- Check Replacement Policy
- Determine if the owning library accepts patron-provided replacements.
- Collect Replacement or Payment
- If a replacement is accepted, collect item placement from patron
- If a replacement is not accepted or the patron decides to pay, collect the required payment from the patron.
- Remit Payment
- Send the replacement item to the owning library through deliver
- Send a check for the replacement cost to the owning library through the mail.
