We’d like to invite you to join the Teen Advisory Board (TAB)!
Upcoming Meetings & Teen Events — All teens are welcome!
Teen Advisory Meetings – We will discuss and implement ways that Teens can help the library. The theme this summer is Unearth a Story and the library staff and TAB has been brainstorming activities and decorations. Suggestions are welcome! Maybe we’ll draw some dinosaurs peeking in our windows? How about helping us make some dino eggs that kids can open and find a treat inside? Our bulletin boards will need to be updated — any ideas?
We have been meeting every other Saturday at 1 pm. The next few meetings are to continue creating dinosaur displays and bulletin boards in the Youth Services areas.
June 6 is our kickoff event and we welcome additional volunteers that day. We will need people to help staff games, activities, refreshments, and other stations. We also need someone to wear the blow-up T-Rex costume for pictures!

We are inviting Middle and High School students to join the TAB and volunteer at the library in a variety of ways. In 2025, Teens volunteered at the Kickoff Color Carnival, STEM programs, Art programs, Nature programs, story times, special events such as the Wicked/Wizard of Oz day, Trucks at the library, and more!

November 1: Thank you to the volunteers who helped with face painting, bulletin boards, crafts, and more at our Glinda / Wicked event!
October 2025: We had some great window paintings to decorate the YA area for Halloween.
Summer 2025: Thank you to everyone who signed up and helped at events this summer! We greatly appreciate all your efforts helping with children’s programs.
June 7: Thank you so much to everyone who helped make the Color Carnival a success! We had over 140 people there, including 13 members of the Teen Advisory Board. TAB members helped with greeting, games, art, face painting, snacks, and generally making themselves useful. This was a big undertaking and we are very grateful to all your efforts! Thank you again!
We have a Glinda / Wizard of Oz / Wicked event coming up July 12 and an end-of-the-summer program August 9. Input and volunteers are welcome for those and other events!
May 31: Carnival prep continued with the painting of cornhole boxes and photo booths and some more planning for the event!
May 17: We prepped for the carnival by walking the space and testing some of the activities and also cut boxes into cornhole games. We finished with snacks and tie-dying.
The shirts look great! Thank you to everyone who made their own and extras for other volunteers. This will be the “uniform” for the Carnival on June 7, from 12 – 3 and for other volunteer events. We are still looking for teens to help with games, art activities, face painting, and more! Visit the Sign Up Genius site (button below) to pick tasks.
May 3: 1st meeting. We talked about the role of the Board and jumped right into planning some activities.
